Student Ambassadors
Student Ambassadors are the on-campus operators of the Flarehub network. They run meetups, workshops, and builder clubs at universities.
The goal is to turn existing engineering and design talent into Flare-native builders with real proof-of-work.
Who can be an ambassador
- Students currently enrolled at a university or similar institution.
- People already organising or active in tech clubs, hackathons, or dev communities.
- Contributors with at least basic proof-of-work on Flarehub (e.g. a bounty, event support, or content).
Responsibilities
- Host recurring events (meetups, study groups, mini-hackathons).
- Promote Flarehub programmes to students (bounties, Hacker Houses, Instagrants).
- Help participants log their proof-of-work and connect with mentors.
- Share recaps, photos, and outcomes so others can learn from your campus.
Funding tranches
To manage risk and reward performance, ambassador budgets typically arrive in tranches:
-
Tranche 1: First meetup
- Approx. $50–$100 equivalent for snacks, room booking, and simple materials.
- Requirements to unlock:
- Basic event plan (topic, date, expected attendees).
- Post-event recap with photos and a short write-up.
-
Tranche 2: Workshops or mini-hackathon
- Approx. $200–$500 equivalent for a deeper event or series.
- Requirements:
- Clear agenda and learning outcomes.
- Participant sign-in and at least a few shipped artefacts (repos, demos, or content).
-
Tranche 3: Ongoing builder club
- Larger, recurring budgets for clubs that consistently ship.
- Requirements:
- Track record of hackathon participation and wins.
- Regular updates on projects, partnerships, and Community GDP contribution.
Exact amounts, currencies, and requirements may vary by region and budget cycle.

Ambassadors receive access to:
- A "Club in a Box" kit (see
Student Builder Pack). - A direct contact in programme ops for questions and approvals.
- Mentors for technical and career guidance.
Application process
- Collect proof-of-work that shows you can execute (on or off Flarehub).
- Submit an ambassador application with:
- Your campus details and existing club affiliations.
- Past events you have helped run.
- Your plan for the next semester.
- If accepted, you will receive onboarding, initial funding details, and reporting templates.
Disclaimers
- Ambassador status is not employment; it is a voluntary leadership role with limited stipends or budgets.
- You are responsible for following your institution’s policies and local laws when hosting events.
- Funding amounts and availability are subject to change.
Next steps
- Students: start by running a small meetup or study group and documenting it as proof-of-work.
- Existing club leaders: map your current activities to Flarehub programmes and identify where support would help.
- Stewards: prioritise ambassadors who already show initiative and can demonstrate responsible event execution.
